Snow Day in the Morning

We are expecting another snow storm to hit New York City tonight and wake up to 2 - 4 inches of snow in the morning. I bet the kids are happy because there may be some school closings. Unfortunately, I will still have to be at work whether it snows or not.

If you don't have to go into the office today because of a snow storm, what would you do?

Bummer! Any unused sick days? :)

The storm will hit Boston too, luckily I'll miss it (leaving town tomorrow for a few weeks).

Very happy holidays, Ming! And an excellent 2008. See you again in mid Jan. :)

eh. i'd be working from home then. nothing exciting.

honestly, people FREAK out way too much about snow though. if you live in manhattan, it's got to be a pretty major blizzard for you to have a legitimate reason not to go into work. But 2 inches makes people think that all of a sudden we're trekking through the Andes.

I probably would spend all day in front of my computer looking at photos. I like the picture, it looks cold but not miserable.

Hmmm. . .I'd be looking at blogs, of course! ;-)

I agree with tcho! I grew up in the snowbelt, and we had to have a lot more than 2-4 inches for them to close our schools. However, you should live in the south. . . .I remember living in Atlanta in the 80s, and 2 inches shut the city down. People were abandoning their cars on the freeway. We were driving around thinking, "WHAT THE HECK?" The following week, there was a threat of snow, and the mayor sent all downtown workers home. We got nothing. ROTFLOL

Today, while you 'enjoy' the snow, I will put on some shorts and take the dogs to the park. Although, it is a cold one here today with a balmy 67 degrees F. (brrr!) Ha!

It's actually going to cool off more tonight I hear...prolly down in the 50's...oh my...what will we do?

Life in the south.

Laterz,
Brien

I left work early because of the snow/sleet. If I didn't have to go in, I'd spend time visiting the blogs that I've missed. ;-)

Normally snow in big cities is not the nicest thing; better to meet it outside the cities (or perhaps in Central Park or Bois de Boulogne). But you have managed to make some nice snow pictures (I looked also on previous posts)!

If we would get some snow in Paris, I would definetely try to do the same thing as you - take some shots for my blog!

Such a lovely wintry photo! If I was snowed in, I'd love to stay home and have a nice cup of hot chocolate and read a good book. Unfortunately we never get snow days!

We've got snow here, in Toronto, too, but I work from my home office, so I have to work. But if there's any day I like to call in sick it's when it snows. I love winter and a snowfall is a great reason to get outside -- to walk the dog, to visit with neighbours while we shovel snow, to skate on our backyard rink. As night falls it is especially romantic.

I would watch the pile of Netflix DVD's sitting next to my TV.

Nice one, Ming. Makes the best of the city. I wonder if it will reach us here in time for Christmas?

(BTW...I notice that you are creeping back to those eating houses again. Is there no stopping you?)
