I usually go straight home after work but my social calendar has very busy lately. Last Wednesday, I was invited to a lecture and book signing event, followed by a wine and cheese reception at the Asia Society. On Thursday, my friend and I went to our old neighborhood in Astoria for some really good sushi. Then I went out again on Friday and Saturday nights.
This photo was taken at the sushi restaurant in Astoria. We were seated next to the wine rack that separated us from the sushi bar in the front and the dining room at the back of the restaurant. I took this photo by sticking my camera through the shelves on the wine rack.
So how has your social calendar been this last couple of weeks?

I've got to learn about sushi one day. Not yet a favourite.
My social calendar has been surprisingly busy. Given the fact that I study and work full-time there's enough activities to make the weeks pass by at an astonishing pace.
Nice being a virtual tourist thanks to your blog!
Wow! aren't you the social butterfly? last couple of weeks have been busy what with the musical rehearsals and now, I have to think about starting my christmas pressie shopping and Yikes! shopping centres have been chock-a-block for a few weeks now and parking spots are scarce to say the least. I'm ashamed to say that I've been reduced to being a 'shopper stalker' in the parking lots! I have to stock my handbag with headache ammo!
December is always a busy time on the social calendar, but this year I don't have as many social engagements as usual. Both sons are spending Christmas with their in-laws, so we are having a family dinner a few days before Christmas. That's fine with me, I always find Christmas Day rather stressful!
It's been blissfully quiet, Ming. But that shall drastically change in a few days and after that, I'm off for a few weeks to soak up sun and warm breezes!
I like brown rice sushi. Not everyone makes it, though...
I love sushi! and I love that New York is so multicultural!
Mmmm..sushi..
My social life has been pretty much nonexistent since I started planning a wedding. Ironic, isn't it?
What's the name of the restaurant? I'll be living in Astoria for four months from February (my first trip to NYC!) and I'd love to know some good sushi places nearby.
I've been reading your blog for a while, but this is the first time I'm commenting. Keep it up!
hectic, wild and crazy schedule, but always have time for sushi.
Last Sunday, I had two Japanese meals! One for lunch and one for dinner.
Delicious. I love Jap food! :-)
I love the color palette here. Very nice.
There last weeks have been pretty crazy: I am at work till 8-9pm and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are packed. I'll have two weeks to relax in Brussels. Or not.
BTW, forgot to mention on your previous picture (holiday market with the silhouettes): the first silhouette is a little blurry, which is really, really cool: it gives it a 3D effect. Groovy.
