Union Square Holiday Market

This photo was taken at the Union Square Holiday Market this weekend. Vendors here sell everything from designer soaps, gloves, scarves and jackets to Christmas decorations like tree ornaments and sparkling trinkets. The market will be open every day until the day before Christmas. This booth in the photo sells gorgeous glass replicas of flowers that arevworn as jewelries.

So when was the last time you bought a piece of jewelry and who was it for?

Hey, that looks like the market they have in Columbus Circle this time of year as well.

The last time I bought jewelry was a pair of earrings at Lord & Taylor for myself. Originally $200, they were marked down to $40. My favorite pair.

Oh, the jewelry looks beautiful. ;-) I'd buy jewelry there, if I could.

That's such a cool photo, Ming. Love the dark silhouettes against the lovely pastel background. :)

You have to time those visits well to avoid the crowds. :)

I need to find one of those markets, so I can get my Christmas shopping started.
Do you think I'm leaving it a bit late?
Last time I bought jewellery was in Florida a month ago at an artist's display, I bought earrings made from mother-of-pearl with sparkly swarovski crystals... really pretty.

I love this photo, Ming! It captures the mood so well!

Last time I bought jewelry was for myself while in Grand Turk last month. . . .I dont usually buy souvenirs, but I saw a beautiful, glass starfish pendant (necklace). Sold!

What a great shot!! I love the silhouettes (sp?). That is really such an artistic shot. You have a great eye for a photo. I just bought earrings for a christmas present, but not at the holiday market. I need to take a visit there.

I checked out some of those jewelry pieces this weekend, but ended up getting a hat instead.

Nice!!!! Love the silhouette and the soft candy colors.

I used to love those holiday markets but they are everywhere now. There's even one on Columbus Circle and CPW. Or maybe I am truning into a blazéed New Yorker... Oh no...

It's not glass jewelry like the caption says. They are real flower petals that are perserved in a lot of coats of resin.
