Tables & Chairs

These tables and chairs are located at Bryant Park behind the New York City Public Library where many locals and tourists alike come to relax and enjoy the scenery or simply to access the free wi-fi connections available here. During the winter season, the park is converted into an ice skating rink and twice a year, giant tents are erected to host the New York Fashion Week.

Even though this is one of the more beautiful parks in the city, I rarely come here because it is not on my regular commuting route or near any place where I would normally shop or eat dinner.

Do you have a favorite park near your city? How often do you visit it?

I LOVE Bryant Park! I used to work there, and we went there for lunch often.

I love how your photo has the gold-tipped awnings of the Bryant Park Hotel in the background.

I love Bryant Park too. People watching is fantastic there. So fantastic to come across such public places with free seating, no need to buy anything to have a seat and watch the world go by!

Love that park. The kind of place where I can sit for hours, people watching, admiring the wonderful surrounding façades...

When in NYC, I prefer Central Park. Here, I like the new parks by the river Tagus...

Obviously well prepared for spring!

(I have what I call "my" park, one minute's walk away ... and on the way there - or back - there are three nice small restaurants!)

It must be very nice to sit there on warm days (the chairs are waiting for ...)

I don't often go to parks because I live in a suburb and have a little garden. But there are three wonderful parks here at the right side of river Rhine which are my favourite ones: the Japanese park, one with sculptures and installations and the large Rhine Park from which you have a great view on the city panorama.

Love the tree to the left....very unique!
We have a park near our home. During Spring/Summer months we visit the park on a weekly if not, daily basis. We like to visit surrounding parks during the summer. The monkey bars vary from park to park in our neighborhood. That makes it exciting for my children!
Where I live in MN, we don't have a relaxing park. They are full of kids & playground equipment and not many chairs for relaxation.

This looks like a nice place.

Due to the hot and humid weather, we do not have the luxury of lazying in parks. Probably that is the reason we don't have many nice parks here. One of the best would be in KLCC.

Parks in the middle of a city have always fasinated me. When my hubby and I were in DC one time there was a park right between two busy roads!

This photo brings back nice memories of when I had lunch in Bryant Park when I was in NY. I was suprised that they leave the chairs out all night and they don't get vandalised. I'm sure they would in the UK.

I like Union Square park because it has a lot to offer....a dog run, greenmarket, artists, the lawn, summer concerts and great lawn for just hanging out.

What a beautiful place. Love the soft colours of the buildings, the chairs are painted just right - and those big ol' trees. Never visited this park before but it's on the list for next time!

We have parks in both Menton and Monte Carlo - well they are called Gardens really. Nice places to sit and enjoy but actually I prefer a cafe by the sea and watching the world go by.

Thanks for the post of Bryant Park. I visited the city in late 2006 (sans camera. duh.) and Bryant Park was one of the memorable stops I made as I made my way around Manhattan. As I recall, even in November, it was remarkably beautiful.

Love the blog.

I would love to go to Bryant Park some day! My favorite park in Austin is Zilker. Maybe some day you will come visit and I will show it to you! You would get some great shots for sure!

Lots and lots of parks and gardens in my city. I like different ones when in different moods.
