Thorn in Lion's Paw

This statue of a lion is one of two giant structures that sits in front of the New York City Public Library on 5th Avenue and 42nd Street. Instead of taking the regular head-on shot or side profile of the lion, I decided to take the photo from beneath the pedestal it was sitting on. When I got home and looked at the photo, it reminded me of the fairy tale of the lion with a thorn in his paw.

So what is your favorite fairy tale?

I have no fav fairy tale. I think they are all equally nice.

See, it's taking me so long just to think of one. I must be getting slow up there. hehe...

It does look like a possible thorn.

Yes!

The NYC Public Library adnd Bryant Park are two od my favourite places in the whole world. Love sitting on those green chairs in the park and watching the world at play....dancers and actors rehearsing, people flirting, kids running around....get a Jamba Juice across the road, sit....and then go and feed your brain and curiosity oin that marvellous building the lions guard.

That's an excellent angle of that lion! I wish I had thought of it.

Fave fairy tale: Rumpelstiltskin, because I like that name.

One of my favorites is Rip Van Winkle.

I'm embarrassed to say that I've been to that NYPL only once. I buy most of my books at Barnes & Noble or Amazon....then recycle them in our building's lending library.

Cool photo. I've got a photo of the same Lion from my visit to NYC, but its not as creative as this one.
