Bryant Park II

This photo was taken last weekend at around 7PM just as the sun has set and a dark glow was beginning to take over the city. I especially love to take photos at this time of the day because the photos always come out with a lovely blue hue. I read somewhere that the best time to take photos are an hour after the sun rises and an hour before the sun sets before the sun casts shadows on the floor.

When do you usually take your photos?

I like to take photos in the late afternoon, too. The light is just beautiful.

I like early morning or late afternoon, too. For my flower photos, I have found that I like late morning/early afternoon (to highlight the colors), but with the sun at my back.

Very nice photo!

I like to take my pictures in the day when there are tonnes of natural light. But not too bright!

Quiet park.

Love that park behind the library ... one of my favorites in NY actually. Lovely light near or after both sunrise and sunset, but in practice I'll usually make a photo when ever I see it. Naturally there are some scenes I'll make a special effort to capture by appointment ... often returning many times hoping for the right light and conditions. ~Chuck

Ming, except for the light, I thought for a second these chairs and tables might be at a Paris park. The light was too different, though, and I knew before reading NY that it was somewhere else. I like the reflections on some of the seats. I have a Flickr friend who is a morning person and takes the most wonderful sunrise shots as well as sunset shots. He gets that incandescent blue in the sky after sunset a lot. Really beautiful.

"Lovely blue hue", what a nice expression, I'll try to remember it.

The after glow is interesting. I like this post.

Whenever I haven't forgotten my camera...or something funny is happening around me.

Nice gloomy shot!

I don't think I have a specific time when I take photos.... whenever I see something worth taking I suppose!

I take my photos between 9am and 11am - it seems to be the best time to take food photos indoors for me as there are no shadows.
You must be busy, I noticed you were a day late putting up a post yesterday? or was it the day before? Hope you are in the pink of health and everything else is ok! xo

I'll have to try taking photos at that time of day. I usually end up taking them when the sun is brightest and they end up too bright. I really like the blue hue in this picure. Before long all those chairs in Bryant Park will be filled with people!

I like to take photos on on an overcast day, when there are no shadows.

I often take them between 9 and 11 in the morning but really it's far too bright here. I suppose the best time is late afternoon but then it's dog feeding time!

Probably the answer is to face the right direction, according to the sun. Have to say I struggle with this endlessly - take photos all the time and pray they will work. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

This is lovely, Ming.

Isn't this Museum the best?
I loved going recently and want to revisit, along with the Natural History Museum. I have a feeling there's tons of photos to be had there.

TGIF, Ming!
