Roasted Corn on the Cob

Roasted corn on the cob is a street fair favorite of mine. At this vendor stand, each piece cost $1.50 and came with two different toppings: melted butter and/or sprinkles of parmigiana cheese. I like mine with parmigiana cheese.

Do you have a street fair favorite?

in mumbai we call it 'bhuta' and they are roasted on coal, no grills. the toppings are a mixture of lime, salt and pepper or red chilly powder.

we certainly miss that street fair food.
However things are cheaper here - which is good.
Food prices seem to have gone through the roof world wide.

Parmigiana cheese? I don't think I've tried corn on the cob with that topping before! :O

I prefer melted butter but also a sharp knife to cut the corn off the cob. I learned, a long time ago, getting corn stuck between real teeth is one thing but getting it stuck between false teeth is quite another.

If you don't see this post then you know I gave up and was not able to decipher this crazy word verification thing blogger came up with.

Corn? In April?! Was it tasty and sweet? I always associate corn with June/July.

Great picture!

This is cliche, I'm sure, but my street fair favorite is a fresh funnel cake.

Mmm, that looks inviting. I usually don't buy them at the street fairs, though, because of all the stuff that ends up stuck between ones teeth...

My latest favorite is a bowl of Pho. Or roasted chestnuts (in Switzerland, when it's really cold outside).

That looks real good. One of my favorite fair foods is a Fletcher Corny dog. I think its a Texas State Fair thing.

Nice Pic. The roasted corn on the cob is good but I am partial to Funnel Cakes if they are available.

I just like that cheerful row of yellow. My favorite street fair food isn't corn - but corn dogs, oh yes.
