Spring in SoHo

I saw leaves on some trees this weekend so Spring must really be here. But before we know it, summer will take over and it will be hot and muggy again. And I will be praying for the cool weather to return.

My favorite season is winter because I love the cold weather and I love the holiday festivities. So what is your favorite season?

Oh my goodness Ming! I LOVE WINTER, TOO! I thought I could never find another perosn who would say that! Most people I know (especially caucaisans tell me they love summer because it's hot...what????)

Yes! I love the chill of winter, the colder the better! I was so enjoying every second of it when I was in Europe last November...don't get me started...

Heee...I tend to like all except summer! Or shall I say ..I prefer a mild winter cold, autumn's golden hue, spring's bloom...to summer :P

If I lived on the East or Gulf Coast I would dread summer too. I think my favorite has to be fall because of the glorious colors that come with the crisp nights. However, living in Seattle I really enjoy the long daylight hours of summertime and for the most part our heat is not terribly oppressive rarely rising about 80 degrees and cooling to the 50's at night.

Hi Chuck,

You're so lucky to experience long daylight hours in Seattle without the oppressive heat of summer. In Singapore, the sun rises and sets around the same time everyday, 365 days a year (7.00am to 7.15pm. Boring!)...and the worst part is, it's searingly hot, hellishly hot. Factor in humidity and you have a huge oven working at maximum effect. I hate this country's climate. Somebody save me.

Oh Ming, you are so lucky to live where you do. The heat and humidity and the closeness of everything must be perfect. You have millions upon millions of neighbors and all are just around the block. You don't have to drive for miles to see another living soul but you can turn your head in one direction or the other and see dozens; hundreds.

Winter is for the birds and even they don't like it. They head south and hang out in places like Florida and come back north when things begin to warm up. Of course, they don't like the sultry south in the summer when the humidity is higher than the temperature.

I really like winter too but only since I no longer have to deal with it and go to and come back through the ice and snow and slush and salt and freezing roads.

Nice post, Ming. That bit of green is the hope of the future now being smothered by mankind and finally people are beginning to realize that Nature is going to get it's share one way or the other. With us around or without.

Thanks for your visits.

An exquisite picture, Ming!

If I wouldn't live in a humid climate, it would be summer, no doubt. So, my favorite is spring and autumn as a very close Nr. 2.

All seasons have their charm. Maybe it's nice to live at a place where the seasons really change things!

I don't really have a favourite season, because each season has it's own charm.
But I must admit that even though winter is beautiful and lots of fun, the winter just passed was too cold, too snowy and far too long.... therefore I am embracing Spring with open arms. But it seems as though we will go straight to Summer... it's been HOT here all weekend!

Ming, what a coincidence? We're both showing trees with buildings in the backgrounds today. How funny?

I love spring thru the fall. Anytime that you can sit outside and dine is perfect. It does get overly humid and hot, so I know what you mean

Beautiful shot.

Coming from a tropical country, my favourite season to visit those 4 season countries is during spring - flowers start blooming and you don't have to be stuck with a big crowd during summer.

Ming...love the photo...I lived in New York..in the city, one summer as a child...I remember the summers being hot and muggy. I was starved for trees and flowers..Central Park was our only escape.. I can totally see why you yearn for the winter holidays....then New York City is "Magical"...

Great photo. The blurry background makes the shot.

My favourite season is winter too! I like the cold frosty mornings and days with bright blue skies.

Ming: I just have to ask.... what colour are they? I mean the Knock-off Crocs?

Ming : the dog in the post below looks exactly like a cross between my son's dog and the late lamented Skippy!
As regards seasons - I love fall and winter.
summer a bit - spring takes too long!

To be a bore,Summer,Summer,oh and did I say summer.Brtish rain,is no fun

If it's to photograph though, has to be Autumn, sorry Fall. It's the delicious array of colours, the depth and texture you don't have any other time of the year. So if I could have Fall colours,in a Summer season, on the French Riviera, then I'm be one happy mad bird lady.

Spring foliage, lush and green terrific.

ok....I used to hate winter because I don't like being cold. Though this winter wasn't too bad and my hair stays really straight on cold, dry winter days.

I love summer, but hate humidity. And the subways stations are dreadful when the temperature soars.

I'm guessing that spring and fall are my favorite seasons. I like temperatures in the high 60's to low 70's with a slight breeze high barometric pressure.

I think that San Diego may have the ideal climate for me.
