This is the ceiling of the awning at old movie theater on Queens Boulevard and 43th Street in Sunnyside. The theater has seen better days and is in desperate need of an extensive renovation. However, it still retains that 1960s architecture, especially the awning that stretches out into the sidewalk.
So what kind of movies do you like best? Romantic comedies, science fiction, drama, foreign language or classic Hollywood movies?

That's bizarre stuff today Heavy industrial look and very interesting.
Well, to answer your movie question, I confess to liking romantic comedies - most recently French ones, which I can't explain, because I don't understand French. A lot of that chanson stuff is getting to me too. I don't know what's happening to me! I've never been to France, I don't know any French people...
Well I'll keep a look out here re the premiere! You would think being a New York Film you would put it on there! I might be in London at the end of may anyway!
Great photo! interesting sculpures!
London premiere 12th May!!
Cool! I've never been down here before. So will they renovate it anytime soon? I like all kinds of movies.

how odd?
I'll have to check it out to see these in context!
Nice piture, sort of industrial and tough looking. I would never have guessed that this was anything to do with a movie theatre!
Interesting photo Ming. I remember several theaters in Queens which retained the architectural detail of the late 1920's. One was the RKO Keith's where Northern Blvd. and Main Street cross. I wonder if it still exists.
I think a lot of people love this kind of thing and associate themselves with all things like it.
Neat post.
Cool photo, I wouldn't have guessed it was part of a theater. I hope it gets renovated and not torn down.
Nice photo. I like a good action film or a romantic comedy, but its got to be funny!
Ming...I suppose you could associate this photo with the old movie reels...this should clue you in that I quite enjoy old Classic Movies..they seem to last all day...those old actors could steal a scene with just facial expressions...Black and White...very little in stage settings..I love the old inside the back seat car scenes, with the city in the background as you listen to fantastic dialogue...sigh....have a great weekend...Dee Dee
Interesting design, indeed.
I am picky when it comes to movies: I usually hates any movie that is big on the box office (super hero, horror, sugary romantic comedies,...). Foreign films, independent movies, films noirs, classics, ... love those!!!
