The New York City Pride Parade was held yesterday with a march down 5th Avenue from midtown Manhattan to the Greenwich Village. The annual parade usually attracts hundreds of organizations and thousands of marchers who participate in various events throughout the week. It is estimated that half a million tourists come to the city for this event.This photo above shows employees of Google marching down 5th Avenue in front of the New York City Public Library on 42nd Street carrying the rainbow colors of Google's icon, which also happen to be the color of the festival.

Great parade. But if you live anywhere near 8th Street, it makes it impossible to get home!

I love the balloons, the colors. I bet it was hard to choose one photo to post. I usually have several I sit and debate between, wanting to post like 5 from an event like this one.
This weekend I did so many fun things and took about 150 pictures of. I ended up posting a baby bird.
I'll post the rest of my weekend during the week-jazz festival downtown, the Rose Gardens, and more.

Loved to see the Water taxi from IKEA. Amazing! We've a big shop 10 minute drive from home and our daughter bought almost everything for her apprtment there... It seems that we are also going to have an IKEA factory somewhere in the northern part of the country, but we don't have such beautiful yellow water taxis... ;))

Trying to rescue my bloddy photos from my deranged laptop! Also watching Glastonbury music festival on the TV. Too old to be sat in muddy field in a tent now, so like to be an armchair outdoor music festival supporter or the local pub. Love the Parade shot, really captured the atmosphere of the occasion.

We spent the weekend riding horses with a whole bunch of friends, both old and new.
There was a Pride Parade in Toronto too, but I didn't go. I hate battling the traffic downtown. Instead, it was our small town Strawberry Festival, so I ate lots of strawberries.... YUM!

Wow looks fab! I made the most of the Sunshine and went to the beach on saturday and then we went to a friends for his birthday BBQ. Yesterday I made the most of the Summer Sales and went shopping!!!!
