Union Square Subway Station

Today is May 15 and it is Subway Theme day again. This photo was taken at Union Square. You can see the multiple levels of this subway station. The top level is mainly undergound pedestrian traffic and the lower level is where the 4, 5 and 6 trains run. There is another level beneath this where the L train runs.

Three other cities are participating in the mid-month subway theme:
Budapest by Andrea Gerak - Peter's Paris - Stockholm by Pixel - New York City Daily Photo

Also, Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there.

Multi-level stations are unusual here. We have the Subway Central in three levels, that's it basically. Oh, and Fridhemsplan but that's more like two adjacent but distinct stations.

Happy Subway Day!

I am happy for you that the trains work and take you where you need to be. I am happy for me that I don't have to ride them to go where I need to be.

A really good photo with action and depth! Makes me wonder how come we people stand it. Like rodents we hurry from A to B in underground tunnels.

Still, happy subway day!

Hi Ming! Great capture with the levels.
As in Stockholm, in Budapest we also have multiple levels at one subway stations where all the lines meet.

A very nice shot! I think I would have difficulties to try to do a similar one. We have of course also stations with several levels, but I don't see where I could get a shot of them at the same time! Good for you! ... as said, I really like your photo!

Union Square is my stop and it took months until I was able to figure out how navigate through the underground maze of passages, entrances and exits.

The one good thing about this station is that it houses a police station, so I always feel safe, no matter what time of day.

It's been a while since I've done the London tube, and I don't miss it. You'd be surprised how many people don't use deodorant! Fantastic image.
