Fashion Shoot in SoHo

I happened on this fashion shoot on Lafayette Street in SoHo recently. The weather was pretty warm but the two male models were dressed in Fall/Autumn weather attires -- leather jackets, long sleeved shirts and jeans. Interestingly enough, they did not sweat at all despite the heat. They posed by the Vespa scooters without moving for the 5 minutes or so that I stood there watching them work.

Notice the guy on the left in his sandals/flip-flops? I wore those last summer and ended up with my foot being cut by a piece of glass on the street. Never again will I wear those things.

So do you wear sandals or flip-flops?

I wear sandals. I'm not into the beetween-the-toes thing flip flops do. But EVERYBODY here wears them cheap flip-flops.
THe models do look so cool. LIke they're above sweating!

personnellement je n'aime pas les sandales, je préfère mettre des baskets très légères.

I personally do not like sandals, I prefer to make baskets very slight.

Ming, the scoot on the left appears to actually be a Vespa brand. The one on the right looks like it could be one of the many oriental imports. Wonder why they didn't sweat.

No flip-flops for me. Never did wear them, even as a kid.

Nice find! I can't stand the bit between the toes on flip flops. And they keep coming off!

I've risen to the challenge you set! Now I want a nun joke!!

I wear both, but you're right -- it's not a smart thing to do here in the city.
BTW, you didn't see these guys sweat because they put anti-perspirant on their neck and around their hairline, etc. (Actually, I just made that up, but I bet it would work.)

Vespa is becoming a very popular alternative to the high price of gasoline. While I don't have one, I have considered getting the small one to scoot around and take pictures.

I have a pair of very kind of sandal that has ever been invented, including flip-flops! But my flop-flops are leather, not the cheap-o plastic kind!

No, no flip-flops for me.
It's not a smart thing to wear
and it's not a good thing to do
for the"Achille's tendon".

Sandals and a type of flip flop- not those foam rubber ones. I hate winter when I have to put shoes on again.
Those non sweating models? Why that's why they get paid big bucks. They can put "Do not sweat under any conditions" on their resumes.

Apparently models are cool people which is why they don't sweat. No why I think though. No to between the toes, yes to sandals.

Sandals at work flip flops on my own time.
Don't really have to worry about glass. The streets here are pretty clean.

My rule: In NYC, you ALWAYS have to be ready to RUN! Flip flops? Never.

Aarrgghhh! I'd kill for that Vespa! Concering sandals/flip flops.
My TEVA sandals works all the time...

In So Cal, everyone wears flip flops at some point. I wear both flip flops and sandals all year. They are even okay for work in many places.

There was probably a make-up person and hair stylist there for the "cool" models.

Hey Ming. I loved the nun jokes! Very funny. Thanks for inspiring me to take a photo out of the ordinary!

Hi Ming...I wear flip flops around the house and pool. When I go shopping I put on various other styles of summer shoes. Do you wear Crocs in New York? Have you heard the warning about wearing them on escalators?....very dangerous.

I live in my flip flops (Havaianas) in the summer, and now that it's winter here, I miss just slipping them on and heading out the door :o(

I actually bought a white pair of them for my wedding - by 10pm, my feet (in heels all day) were burning, so my white flips flops were an absolute saviour!

I am a sandals/flip-flop/crocks hater. Can't stand those things. So ugly.

Back to your photo: cute boys on scoter? I am in! And, they are wearing shoes!
