I saw this Free Tibet rally at the southern end of Union Square on my way home from an alumni function in the city last night. The function went well and we ate some great southern food -- cajun gumbo, fried catfish, popcorn shrimp and hushpuppies.
Interestingly enough, it was an unexpected reunion for me and two friends whom I went to graduate school with over 10 years ago. The last time we were all in a room together was in March 2005 when we all met up (again, unexpected) in Basel, Switzerland.
So have you been to an alumni function lately?

No, since I'm still in college.
Did you go to NYU? New School?
Yes, at least 7 years ago, actually! I went back to Tuscany and we had a dinner at a Pizzeria. It was really fun to see everyone and have old gigs and school memories.
No George. I went Northeast Louisiana University. It's called the University of Louisiana at Monroe now. Small public school in the rural jungle of Louisiana. :-)
I support totally this demonstration
I smelled fried catfish and ran right over! Alumni gig? Not lately but I do feature that national oddity of SEC football mania and my alma mater on my blog today. LIke your photo too Ming. Great capture of a crowd of Americans exercising their rights. Something I think we take for granted sometime.
PS I had forgotten you went to school in LA. You really ARE one of us down here.:)
Must have missed this one Ming.... as we were in the east village last night, having dinner at John's.
great photo of an important cause Ming.
No, not lately, though I was thinking of paying a visit to my old college friend who lives in Philadelphia.
I'm with Bergson, I'm 100% behind this demo. I all for this kind of photojournalism. You've just taken a historical snap.
I did the school reunion bit a few years ago. Wierd.
That great southern food would draw me. Never tried it until I visited an alumni event with my husband at University of Arkansas!
Yes, we now go to my alumni stuff at UCLA - go Bruins! Mostly athletic functions and theater parties.
Really nice shot and good cause! Thanks, Ming.

Mmmm... Southern food. What's a good soul food place in the city?
I join the gang in support to this cause!
When I go visit our headquarters in Brussels, it sure does feel that way. A lot of my Belgian colleagues come from the same alma mater.
