I took this photo with my cell phone while waiting for the train to go to work yesterday morning. I apologize for the poor quality but I liked the colors in it. The splash of orange, yellow, pink and blue definitely cheered up an otherwise, dreary day.
So do you usually wear colors or are you a black-on-black kind of dresser?

That's beautiful!! You couldn't have planned that any better.
I love the blue and yellow and pink umbrellas, and especially the orange boots.
Love the colors from the umbrellas and boots! Great shot, Ming. Heard about all the rain hitting the East coast. In LA it's almost 100....very dry.

A CELL PHONE??? Dang! This is a terrific photo MIng. I can't even start to say what all appeals to me. The symmetry of the commuters all lined up, the color, the candid quality. The only thing I might do is crop a little, but I am not sure that it would need it. Good job!!
No way man, you staged that shot.
Where can I get a pair of orange gum boots?
Great pic Ming.
Cell phone or not, its a great shot.
Ah, it's good to see New Yorkers sporting something else than black.
Even the little one has opted for a hot pink accessory.
My color scheme changes from day to day. Sometimes just neutrals, sometimes blasts of color, sometimes a mix.
Looking at these folks, the pair under the yellow umbrella seem to have created the most cheerful light for themselves. I'll have to remember that the next time I go umbrella shopping.
This is a great photo Ming, It looks almost surreal, like toy people hanging out in a toy environment. Maybe it's the bright colors against the neutrals. Uselaine is right, the bright colors cheer up the rainy day nicely.
In the summer I wear light colors and in the cooler weather I wear blues & browns. I know, very boring.
I am more on the dark colors, browns, black, blue, some red...
But I'd love a pair of really colourful wellies!
Great phto Ming!
What a find - all those colors!
And what kind of phone do you have, that takes such good pictures?? My cell contract is up, and I wouldn't even bother replacing the phone, but I'd really like one with a better CAMERA!
Interesting how they are all different colors and only an optimist would notice that...good job.
Great shot Ming!
Wow Ming, just another amazing shot!!! and yeah what kind of phone do you have??...great shot!!!
Islipian & Barbara Rahal -- I used an iPhone.
Love the photo! Love the pink umbrella. Its always good to have colour on a rainy day
Hi Ming! Here I am to enjoy your lovely blog on my weekly visit!
And this week we have again some wonderful pictures.
The cellphone pic may not be perfect, but is a great shot: colours, framing... As far as work colours, it's mostly classic blue and grey... ;))
The Human Beehive and the Triple Vision are amazing posts!
Miss the Promenade, edited or not, and thanks for the W. You knew I love that hotel... next time in NYC, I'll try to book a room there...
Look forward to reading you at Blogtrotter, now back in Chania!
Have a great weekend!
New Yorkers sure know how to pick their brollies!
Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comments. Happy weekend!

I love pictures of normal people doing normal things, no matter what the day is like. Next time it's a dull day though, think about these people standing here, looking at this !
That's fantastic! They look like a group of extras just waiting for the 'Action!' on some TV commercial.
OOOH an iPhone - my friend has one, but i hate that the camera doesn't zoom! i guess it doesn't have to, but still; if you bother putting a camera on a phone try your best to have at least some higher degree of functionality.
agree with uselaine too, the pair under the yellow umbrella seem beautifully lit up on such an overcast day.
and me? i wear a lot of blacks and greys and whites and silvers. if i do wear color, it's usually a splash of red or blue.
from memory though, black does seem to be the color of NYC, though not in east village, where the craziest colors make an appearance! is that right?
Dear Ming, you are better than you think you are.
black on black definitely, with splashes of white or gray and blue denim.
I like the atmosphere... looks like a painting...
Great photo! It's really quite sweet. Everyone under their umbrella.
Ming, this is wonderful! And a perfect example of why you should "always carry a camera" :)
You have an eye for the extraordinary. I love this shot, especially the orange boots, and the courage and flip attitude the person had to just go ahead and wear them! I wish I was more like that, but I have to make a concerted efffort to not care what people think when I am getting dressed. Just something about me, I guess, but working on it nonetheless! I mostly want to dress too young for my age. Someone commented to me today that she thought it was so cool that I wear Hurley and Element sweatshirt jackets.Normally worn by skateboarders. I told her, "I guess I just don't want to grow up!" At 42, I try and be as young as I feel, which is more like 20 :)
I go in streaks of wearing colors, but I am usually extremely color-coordinated, whatever I wear!
Just love this. The colours, the umbrellas, the platform.
Ditto - that is an incredible photo.
