Waiting for the Train

Today is October 15, which means it is another subway theme day. This photo was taken at the Union Square subway station when I was waiting for the train to go home last weekend. The people you see in the photo are waiting for the downtown train while I was waiting on the other side for the uptown train.

The theme is shared by the following bloggers:
Budapest - New York City - Paris - Stockholm

Can you see me? I am behind the staircase, waiting for the 1 to go home. Oh, wait - no I thought is was Times Square but it is Union Square. That seems to be your number one destination. ;)

Looks like one of those odd quiet moments of waiting which can occur in the midst of a city.

Happy subway day!

belle photo du métro, peut être un peu inquiétante.
beautiful image of the subway, may be a little disturbing.

Nice shot! Which direction do you prefer, downtown or uptown?

Everybody for himself...that's what happens in most big cities. You pictured that very well,Ming!!

I never been there or never rode on a subway. I would hold on for dear life and keep both eyes shut. Somebody would have to tell me where and when to get off.

Finally time to catch up, Ming. So sorry - have had no internet for a while, plus earlier busy busy busy but today I'm catching up and enjoying your wonderful photographs.

This reminds me of other subway stations - meaning in other countries too - where there is a certain menace with the darkness. You captured this so beautifully.

MIng, Love this one. I love the lines and the people in between. Nice! BTW, if I can sneak a few good ones in the Paris Metro may I join this elite group some week? Maybe Peter won't mind if I move in on his territory just once!

Nice dark photo - appropriate for underground life!

Pretty quiet at the station, Ming.

Speaking of being quiet, I'm sorry I've been quiet lately. I've 20-30 pp of new work, plus revisions and annotations due monthly, and I'm overwhelmed right now.

Maybe Santa should bring me someone to do this work!
