Ice Rink @ Bryant Park

This is The Pond at Bryant Park, an free ice skating rink on 42nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. It is one of three ice skating rinks in the city -- the other two are at the Rockefeller Center and Central Park.

So when was the last time you ice skated?

last year I saw the assembly, and the opening was just the day of my departure, this year I will finally see my Bryant Park with its ice rink (in truth I have ever seen on the site of Bryant Park, there is now a Webcam)

In second grade, our troop of Bluebirds took lessons together at a place called Iceland, down in LA. I think I tried again in high school, but the rental skates gave no ankle support and hurt like the dickens. I haven't tried it since!

I hate ice skating. I think that if we were meant to go on ice we'd have blades for feet! The worry of falling over and getting my fingers chopped off by someone elses skates has never changed my mind to give it a go!

looks so much more wintery there than here :-) and I LOVE to ice skate, though I haven't been in years. hardest part is bending over to lace-up the skates!

I'm so NOT a skater... I tried it on ice a couple of times, I even tried roller skating but it's just not in me to glide along, I need my feet firmly planted on the ground.

well slap me in the head and call me stupid. I never knew there was a skating rink in Bryant park.
Could be because I can't skate worth a damn.
