We had a nice cool sunny weekend recently and everyone was out at Central Park. One of things to do when you go to Central Park is to eat a soft pretzel or a hot dog. And this vendor had a long line of people waiting to buy some hot dogs.
So do you like hot dogs, sausages and/or processed meats? I certainly do. :-)

Absolutely yes!
je préfère prendre un bretzel chaud, hummm c'est bon.
I prefer to take a hot pretzel, hummm it's so good.
Oh man, it's unsettling - in a good way - to see a Freitag bag outside Switzerland!
Hot dogs: no thanks! I'd take a pretzel though, like Olivier.
Yes, Ming, we have a soft pretzel maker here. They have been making those big ones for a long time, longer than we have lived here and that is 46 years. When we moved here you could buy a soft pretzel at any store for 25 cents and the last time I bought one from a vendor like your photo was two years ago and I had to pay $1.50. I don't know maybe some of that cost was for the mustard or the salt.
Yum Yum. On our first day we went to Central Park and I had a burger at a stand near the ice rink and we watched the skaters and just took it all in, fab xx
... and no Glühwein (hot wine)?
My friend owns a hot dog stand. I'm afraid I splurge too often. His "all the way dog" is to die for.

Spring Training (baseball) is about to start here in Ariz. and we can't wait for the Chicago dogs that go with the ballgames.
I LUV my hotdogs NY style with lots of saurerkraut and mustard! Man, you made me hungry with this memory of NY hotdogs!
Hi Ming! Wurst (sausages) OK! But not a fan of pretzel...
Interested in Rajasthan? Blogtrotter has it! ;) Enjoy, comment and have a great weekend!
I'm a vegetarian but I used to love to eat hot dogs when I was a teenager. I was tempted to eat one at Shea Stadium when I was there last Fall, but I had a stomach ache & didn't want to risk it getting worse!
I love this photo-great light, color & shadows.
Yum! Totally love that stuff. Although after I came back from Argentina I made a pledge to stop eating all non-grass-fed beef. And so far I've kept it!
I feel like having a hot dog now.

Good shot, Ming!
Last time I allowed myself to have a hot dog was at the original Nathan's at Coney Island in the dead of winter (with sauerkraut and ketchup, and it was so good and SO worth the calories and nasty ingredients).
Hello, Ming! I've been away for awhile, but I am thrilled to know you are still posting daily NYC photos. Re: hot dog vendors. Oddly, this is one of the things I miss most abount NYC. This and the smell of the hot, salty pretzel stands. :) Peace to you this Valentine's weekend. ~Suz.
I love hot dogs [well, and most sausages]. Whenever I'm in New York, Gray's Papaya and some random street hot dog vendor are must stops for me. And yes, I know neither is the best example of hot dogs, but they're still delicious. Here in Chicago, a glorious place called Hot Doug's dispenses gourmet dogs and sausages that have people lining up around the corner. A quote on Doug's wall tells you why: “There are no two finer words in the English language than ‘encased meats,’ my friend.”
nothing beats a new york hot dog with mustard, onions and sauerkraut. droooool.
Sure I do! I'd love to have an hot dog there!
I'll take the pretzel.
Yes, I love weiners. ;)
oh yes definitely! i love sausages that has cheese oozing out :-)
how do hot dog stands damage the central park, a man-made ecosystem?
hi! hot dogs suck!! especially since they damage the environment!!!!
