Royal Enfield

I saw this vintage Royal Enfield motorcycle parked outside the Barneys Departmental Store on 60th Street between Madison and 5th Avenue. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who gave it a second look. The guy on the right thought it was a pretty cool bike too.

So do you know how to drive a motorcycle?

Wonderful capture. I have been following your blog for nearly a year now and I thoroughly your work.

I look forward to seeing your daily NY photos as NYC is my favorite city in the world.

this is a modern classic bike, not really a vintage bike as it is manufactured in india and exported to US, Europe, Australia and Japan.

the latest model has got a great review in last weekends New York Times on http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/17/automobiles/17ROYAL.html?emc=eta1

it's available in the US brand new with a 2-year warranty!

No but I sure know how to photograph them. I am the world's worst pillion passenger. I just can't sit still. Classic bike, classic image.

Military dispatch rider's bike in WW2... but I think this one is newer than that!
No, I don't ride a motorbike but we used to have a Rupp mini-bike, it was great fun buzzing round the school field on it.

These are actually current production bikes, made to look like the old originals.

And yes, I ride -;)))
