Queens Boulevard, one of the major roadways in New York City, is sometimes known as the Boulevard of Death due to the high number of accidents where pedestrians are run over and killed by speeding cars that careen down the freeway every day. The boulevard has anywhere from six to twelve lanes depending on where the street is located and it runs literally straight through some of the most populated residential areas in Queens.
So when I saw this person trying to cross Queens Boulevard on his Segway a couple weekends ago, all I could think was, "What the &$@%*# was he thinking?" [Excuse my language!] I was tempted to walk over and smack him over the head.
So have you done anything stupid in your life before?

I've always wondered about these Segways — when you're on one, are you considered a pedestrian or a vehicle?
he looks like a douche.
on en voit de plus en plus, je trouve cela amusant, mais j'aimerais pas en faire.
they see from it more and more, I find it entertaining, but I would like not to make it.

Oh, puh-LEEZE. I'm starting to wonder what I've done in my life that WASN'T stupid?!?
Yes, we've all done stupid things. But Segways take it all to another level of stupidity!!
oh my gosh, Islipian just made me laugh out loud.
You're funny too Ming. but I'm sorry, I can't imagine you smacking anyone's head!
as far as being stupid, hmmm...where shall I begin?
Will the Segway roll up the el stairs, too? I'm guessing that's the 40th St. station on the right. This reminds me of that big yellow and black sign at the 46th St. station about a pedestrian being killed trying to cross at that intersection.
Might possibly be out to lunch in Sunnyside Saturday or Sunday with my wife, my paralegal and her daughter. The young lady has some interest in seeing a "real" New York neighborhood outside of Manhattan.
Ming, stupidity abounds...why remember it?!
Stupidity? Do the first 3 marriages count?
Stupid is as stupid does. Nah, I've never done anything stupid. Well, not that I can remember, although other people seem to remember certain things quite well.
Don't understand that!
hahahah I love the comment from Anonymous above!
I don't think I'd ever feel very safe on one of those segways, even if there were no other vehicles in sight.
That looks dangerous!
I have to think a bit longer about the *stupid stuff part* ... ^-'
Me? Stupid stunts? Never!
-:)
Oh, come on, Ming. So the guy might survived the road crossing and you go there and smash his head?!?!
It's incredible that it should be so dangerous to cross the road...except that 12 lanes is way too wide to be crossed quickly...
The trick I find is to explore new ways to do stupid things.
