Metropolitan Museum of Art Atrium

This is the atrium of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is located on the Upper East Side of New York City. The entrance to the museum is directly in front of me, behind the tall floral arrangement in the information booth. I was here to meet Sheryl of Astoria, Oregon Daily Photo, who was in town to celebrate her birthday last week.

So have you met any of the daily photo bloggers?

Very busy place. And I thought the doors led out to a patio!

I've only met Lyra of Butuan Daily Photo, when she spent a month here in Manila. Butuan City is in the southern part of the Philippines.

No, have never met another blogger, but there is one who lives just a few streets away from me, although I have never run into him.

Well, you, of course. And Jing from Shanghai, Corrine in Forks, Janet in D.C. and Olivier from Evry. Just missed Kim in Seattle - we were on the same overlook and didn't find each other. All of them have been very enjoyable. There have been a couple of people I've contacted when heading to their town who didn't respond. That seems strange.

Ming, I like the photo! It's mysterious and shadowy and shows the feel of the room so nicely with the manageable bustle of the crowd, the movement, and the gorgeous centerpiece of flowers. It was a wonderful day and an amazing museum. That day may have been the highlight of our trip. We really enjoyed meeting and talking with you (a memorable part of our trip, for sure) - and to answer that question, you are the first City Daily Photo (or maybe any other blogger) I've met, although I've developed some wonderful in-person relationships from other online contacts over the years. I'm happy to be a part of this family. After we met you, Lee started the Bend, Oregon, Daily Photo blog. So . . . uh . . . yeah, I guess I've met him, too :)

As to the other question, before I moved to Oregon I read in a guidebook that if you wonder where the hippies went, visit Oregon. So true! We are here (as well as in Woodstock)!

It's the Grand Hall.
For the atrium, wait till Saturday when the American Wing reopens. I won't be in Friday otherwise I would offer a staff sneak peak.
