Pink Dogwood

Last week, I posted a photo of a white and green flowering tree and you guys wrote in and told me it was dogwood. Thanks everyone!! Some of you even mentioned that there are pink ones. This past weekend, I saw a pink dogwood tree and took a photo of it.

It's amazing how much I have learned since I started the NYC photoblog. So what have you learned from your blogging experience?

elle est belle, on dirait qu'elle s'ouvre au visiteur de ton blog.
Vite fait, un blog permet de rencontrer des gens, aussi bien a l'étranger que dans sa ville, et rien que pour cela je suis content d'avoir fait un blog.

it is beautiful, it looks like it opens the visitor to your blog.
Quick, a blog can meet people, as well as abroad in his hometown, and nothing but for that I'm glad to have taken a blog.

I have learned lots also, about other cities, other people, photography, wildlife, plants, and whatever people blog about! It's a lot of fun.

I love dogwoods and pink is my favorite. However, I also enjoyed your white and green ones also. Have a great week!

Gorgeous photo! They smell nice, too, I think.

I just learned Seattle has one of the busiest drawbridges in the world doing a bit of research for Tuesday's post. Learned a bit about Porta-Pottys, too. They make great gas stops for scooters -:)

I'm not a blogger. I take advantage of all you bloggers, reading all kind of interesting stuff and learning a lot.

The pink ones are pretty, too!

I love how many flowering trees there are in the city. Not great for the allergies, but they make for a lovely view.

This is a beautiful shot. Did you know that this kind of pink dogwood is cultivated? Wild dogwoods are usually white, but a very pale pink sometimes pops up in the wild. (We're big on dogwoods here in the southeast)
Since I've started my photoblog, I've not only seen my town in a different light, but I've made connections to people all over the world and learned about their experiences. Thank you, Ming, and everyone at CDPB for that privilege.

Beautiful photo, Ming!

I've learned that photography is FUN and I'm far more creative than I thought I was. I've also learned a great deal about a lot of difference cities, towns, and countries I might not otherwise have seen and learned with all of you who blog about where you live and work.

Gorgeous photo!! Since I've started photoblogging, I've learned so much about other people from all over the world! It is amazing to see how different, and yet how alike we are. Sometimes I read about an experience that I can't even imagine, and other times I'll read about something and realize that someone on the other side of the world has the same concerns that I have!

What a lovely dogwood flower, I have never really looked at one so closely!
See...? that's what we learn from blogging... to look at the world around us with a different eye... through someone else's camera lens... to see what other people see... with some one else's erspective on life... it widens the world!

I love to garden, but when I started blogging and taking closeups of what was growing in my garden I was surprised to see how different the flowers looked up close. It's almost magical how the appearance changes under a close up.
Love the blog...it makes me homesick.

Oh so pretty!!! Looks like porcelaine.
Lately, I got a lot of emails from Europeans asking questions on the city. Mainly French-speaking people (Frenchies or Belgians) planning to visit New York soon. I feel like a travel office. Funny. Soon, i may learn a new job!

i've learned that so many people go through the same thing, just through different experiences.

humans all so much more alike than different.

I have seen and learnt so many interesting, beautiful sites (non-tourist location) in various cities! And the one I love most is getting to know the people living in those cities, their culture, tradition! Lotsa great stuffs!

The dogwood is the state flower of my home state, Virginia. When I was little, I picked one off, and my friends all convinced me that I was going to jail. I think I cried that whole afternoon.
