Since my out-of-town friends are still in NYC, we decided to go to my favorite Greek seafood restaurant for dinner last night. Taverna Kyclades on Ditmars Boulevard and 34th Street in Astoria serves mostly seafood cooked on the grill. This is one of my favorites: grilled shrimp. The dish comes with roasted lemon potatoes on the side. We also ordered a serving of Greek salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives and feta cheese.
So do you like Greek food?

I love that place!!! They serve real greek food. I love their grilled fish.
You are making me hungry again.
Yes, I love Greek food and this looks very good!
I think a garnish of purple carrot would be the piece de resistance. Probably not a Greek thing.
I don't think I've been to a Greek restaurant since I was a child, I know that it is almost identical to Turkish food, and I LOVE Turkish food.
I hope nobody puts a hit out on me for saying that.
Yum! Yes, I like good Greek food, especially if it's well prepared. And this looks like a delectable dish!!
Love Greek food, especially their slow roasted lamb, and that photo is making me hungry.
i love the dips and pita, but sometimes i think greek is too.. "meaty" for me.
and dun get me started on argentinian food...
ce que je préfère c'est les salades grecques avec des feuilles de vignes et de la feta.
What I prefer is the Greek salad with vine leaves and feta.
Yes yes yes!
Don't touch that plate, I'm having it. And the greek salad. And a moussaka. And vine leaves.
Greek food is wonderful!
Slowly catching up with the blogs I love after coming back from vacation. Your body art post was great, and congratulations on your metal theme day post. What an excellent choice!
Oh, that looks lovely!
That place has been recommended to me. I've always gone to Elias Corner (and loved it immensely), but I'll try this place next time.
YES! I love it Greek food. I have some friends who are Greek and I love everything they prepare. We have a large Greek community in Birmingham and their Greek Food Festival is coming up in September. Can't wait.
Your plate of shrimp looks divine.
I thought these were squab at first. Nice looking shrimp.

We have a large Greek community and several good Greek restaurants but they could learn something from this photo: presentation is everything and this one is scrumptious.

thanks for the seafood tip dude! I am there...
I am a fan (as in fan-atic) of Greek food ever since I went to my 1st Greek restaurant many years ago in DC. I've been cooking it at home ever since. Oh yeah, I also learned that stiletto heels and ouzo are not a recommended combination. Not that you asked.
Well that dish certainly looks appetising.
Love Greek salad!!....the grilled shrimp look scrumptious! You do seem to have the best of the best in restaurant dining handy ....We have a little Greek restaurant that has the best veggie pizza...toped with fresh spinach...it is soooo good....these folks know how to cook!
I love Greek food, part of the reason for my Greek holidays! I like Greek salad and moussaka best of all :)
I like most food that is veggie and not english. Love greek salad on a hot day, but the best greek food is in Greece. The aubergines and tomatoes thre are to die for.
You got a mention in my post today, as I kind of got the idea to do it from the Serendipity question.
That looks delicious. I don't know a lot about Greek food, but what I have sampled, I like.
And I really like the shape and colour of that plate!
oh it looks so yummy. i love Greek salad as well. But I seldom eat them here though.
(only when I go on holidays :-) )
that looks absolutely delicious ming!! i love grilled shrimp (prawns).
That's my favorite dish too.... I may take a trip to Queens just to try that place.
Is it near the subway?
Humm! It looks delicious!
