I was at Bryant Park yesterday afternoon because it is New York Fashion Week. I saw this pretty young girl wrapped in layers because of the cold, windy weather. I asked if I may take her photo and she nodded.So do you usually wear a hat and/or a scarf?

i prefer a scarf or my paperboy cap.

Any time I'm in a place where I feel cold, I put on a hat.
Do you know that humans lose 85% of their body heat through the scalp? That's what I've been told.
I have a real collection of nice hats -- and used to wear a lot of scarfs when I lived in NYC in the 1960s.
On the other hand, with hot sweltering weather, a nice buzz cut and some gel and my head feels MIGHTY COOL.
I'm almost 70 and I can do what I want!

Yes, I wear and a hat and a scarf in winter and that's in the south of France...in New York in winter, I'd probably wear a duvet over my head.

She is a pretty young lady. I see people all wrapped up like this and in my day, I knew the younger ladies all wore long johns. I wonder if they still do?

Well when in NYC I wore a hat and 2 scarves -one out and one in. In LA these last two weeks, scarves for sure, but no hat.
